Are assets actually stored on my phone?

No. Assets are recorded on blockchain networks. A wallet mainly manages the keys that control addresses and presents on-chain state.

What is the difference between a seed phrase and a private key?

A private key controls an account directly. A seed phrase can usually derive a group of private keys and addresses. Both must remain private.

Will imtoken support ask for my seed phrase?

No. imtoken staff will never ask for a seed phrase, private key, or verification code, and an ordinary support page should not need them.

Why can the same address appear on different networks?

Many EVM-compatible networks use the same address format, but each network keeps separate balances, blocks, and transaction history.

What should I check before sending?

Verify the recipient address, network, amount, and estimated gas. A small test can be useful when sending to a new destination.

What is gas?

What is a transaction hash for?

Does connecting to a DApp approve my assets?

No. A connection opens a session. Signatures, transactions, and token approvals are separate requests that should be reviewed individually.

Is a message signature always safe?

No. A gasless message can still represent login, an order, a permit, or another authorization.

What is a token approval?

It gives a spender contract permission to use a token within a defined allowance. It can remain on-chain after you disconnect.

How do I manage old approvals?

Use a trusted tool to verify the spender, token, network, and allowance, then submit an on-chain revocation if the permission is no longer needed.

Can assets move directly between EVM networks?

Not simply because the address looks the same. Cross-network movement usually requires exchange support, a bridge, or another interoperability mechanism.

How does Layer 2 relate to the base chain?

Layer 2 systems process more activity outside the base execution path and later connect data, proofs, or state results back to the base chain.

Does Ethereum staking guarantee returns?
